Spokane firefighters are warning people of phone-call scams asking for donations to firefighters. Scammers are calling and asking for donations, and they are becoming more aggressive and threatening, according to a Facebook post from the Firefighters Union IAFF Local 29. The scammers are telling people that “next time you have an emergency, your complaint won’t be number one on our list,” according to the post. The scammers are calling from multiple phone numbers. Firefighters do not conduct phone solicitations for money at any time, the Facebook post states. “If you receive a call and are asked to make a donation or provide information, decline their offer and hang up,” the post says.
