Spokane Valley deputies arrested a man on Tuesday on suspicion of making “highly agitated and abusive” threats to a 911 operator. Christian D. Greenwald, 27, called the emergency hotline over 20 times making threatening comments, according to a Spokane County Sheriff’s Office news release. Greenwald also said he would become a terrorist and mentioned the Freeman High School shooting. Deputies booked him into Spokane County Jail on a felony harassment charge and released him after a court appearance. Greenwald has had “several law enforcement contacts for apparent mental health-related issues and trespassing,” according to the news release. Deputies located Greenwald at a business on North Sullivan Road in Spokane Valley that the 911 operator frequently visits, according to the press release. The operator was “extremely concerned” and felt that Greenwald’s threats were credible.
