A fire that burned a commercial building in Seattle's Central District early Saturday morning has been deemed arson, fire officials said Monday.
It was just before 4 a.m. when dispatchers received several calls into 911 reporting a fire at a building in the 700 block of 23rd Avenue, says Hilton Almond with Seattle Fire.
Crews arrived to find flames on the outside of the building and called in additional help.
It took about 30 minutes to knock down the flames, Almond said. No one was found inside and no injuries were reported.
Fire investigators have since determined the fire was intentionally set and Seattle Police are now looking into the case. Damage was estimated at $200,000, Almond said.
