VIDEO: Firefighters worked to extinguish a shed fire Sunday evening that threatened two Kennewick homes. Kennewick firefighters responded just before 6 p.m. to a fire in a shed behind a home at 3721 W. Metaline Ave. Fire officials said two homes were threatened, as gusty winds controlled the spread and direction of the flames. Firefighters extinguished the fire quickly, but the shed was completely destroyed and a neighbor's shop suffered some burn and smoke damage. The flames reached a power pole in the area and a power line went down across a chain link fence. Benton PUD was on scene working on the power line soon after the fire was put out. All the home's residents were inside when the fire began and were evacuated. The fire caused no damage to the actual home. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
