Fire District 7’s new Fire Station No. 33, at 19424 Fales Road, officially opened earlier this month. The new fire station is located near the intersection of Fales Road and state Route 522. The 11,000 square foot fire station will provide improved response times and accessibility to the Echo Lake and Lost Lake communities while continuing to meet the district response standards for the Maltby and Paradise Lake Road communities. The new station features three apparatus bays, office and training areas and dorms for the crew. The new $5.4 million fire station was built on a vacant 4.9 acre site. Fire Chief Gary Meek told the Tribune previously the site was purchased in a bank foreclosure for about $205,000. The crew that was assigned to Station 74, Maltby Station, have been reassigned to the new facility. Department personnel held a short flag raising ceremony on April 1 and pushed the fire vehicles relocated from Station
