A 2-year-old girl was rushed to a hospital after a report of a near-drowning Wednesday afternoon off Cottonwood Drive near Wiser Parkway, according to Benton County Fire District 1.
The Benton County Sheriff's Office told KAPP-KVEW several people were around, and the girl was supervised when she went in the pool. However, it's not known exactly how she nearly drowned.
"It was in a moment's time the child was seen in the pool and taken out," said Sgt. Carlos Trevino.
Deputies got to the scene and the mother was doing CPR on the girl. Trevino said a deputy took over and revived the child.
Fire Chief Lonnie Click said the girl was breathing on her own when she was transported around 1:46 p.m. The child is expected to be okay.
