It's fire season, which means another red flag warning has been issued in our area. This time with threats of thunderstorms starting today and lasting till Saturday. The combination of extreme heat, winds, and thunderstorms mean the possibility of a fire starting is extremely high. The Benton County Fire District had some tips in preparation for such a threat. First off, they said leave the firefighting to the professionals. "Sometimes when people do it they get hurt and it makes it even more dangerous for us because that may be a potential where we're having to rescue someone in the middle of a fire where they are hurt or injured and can't get out of there. This makes it more of a dangerous job for us," said Lieutenant Aaron Maloy, Benton County Fire District. Another important reminder is to not stop and stare when a fire is happening, especially if you're in a vehicle.
