Auburn residents escape burning home

A smoke alarm alerted two residents in time to escape their burning home on Auburn’s West Hill Thursday afternoon. According to the Valley Regional Fire Authority and South King Fire and Rescue, the mid-afternoon fire heavily damaged the home at 321st and 58th and burned three cars. As of 4 p.m., two cats were reported missing. Firefighters and investigators were still on the scene as of 5 p.m.
