The Masonic Grand Lodge of Washington plans to lay the cornerstone for Lewis County Fire District 3’s new station on Mossyrock Road East. The event is coordinated by the Robert Morris Lodge in Silver Creek but will include participation from Freemasons all over the state.
The public event is scheduled for 10 a.m. Sept. 7 at the fire station at 238 Mossyrock Road East.
“Freemasons have been laying the cornerstones of important public buildings throughout the history of our nation, including the United States’ capitol building and our own legislative building in Olympia,” said Clay Anderson, a longtime member of the Robert Morris Lodge, in a statement. “This new fire station is a tremendous asset to our community, and we are pleased to be able to show our appreciation for it by helping to lay the cornerstone using our traditional ceremonies that have changed little over hundreds of years.”
