A semi burst into flames Monday morning in Puyallup, snarling the morning commute along SR 512.
It was around 2 a.m. when a semi in the eastbound lanes on the overpass to Golden Given Road crashed into a guardrail, rolling the truck over and setting it ablaze, troopers said.
Video from the scene shows the flaming semi with at least two holes in the trailer.
One nearby driver said it sounded like a bomb went off.
Luckily, the driver of the semi managed to escape the cab before it burned and was hospitalized, but was expected to recover.
The driver told troopers one of his tires blew and that's what caused him to lose control, but troopers are still investigating whether that was the case.
