Santa will be riding one of Arlington’s fire engines out across the community as the Santa Run returns for it’s 30th year from Dec. 6 to Dec. 15.
For 10 nights volunteers from the Arlington Fire Department and the city of Arlington will collect food and bring Santa around to meet local families.
The Santa Run begins at 5:30 p.m. on weeknights and at 5 p.m. on the weekend.
The annual event raises money and donations for the Arlington Community Food Bank.
“Last year’s Santa Run, we broke some records, including for amount of food” said Arlington firefighter/EMT Nich Sacha, who is one of the main organizers of the event.
The department received11,684 pounds of food and $1,950 in monetary donations.
