A recent high school graduate in Longview is facing a terrible diagnosis, but she’s using the time she has left to knock out a bucket list. She crossed off one item Saturday night at the Longview Holiday Parade.
The Longview Fire Department learned about Kylee Jacobson’s cancer diagnosis while reading the newspaper Saturday morning. The article mentioned four items on her bucket list. One of them is honking the horn of a fire engine.
Just a few hours later, she was in the front seat – honking the horn for everyone in the community to hear.
Jacobson found a lump in her leg in the spring of 2019, before graduating high school.
Just before prom, she learned it was cancer – a rare diagnosis similar to Ewing’s Sarcoma.
She spent the following months receiving treatment, but the cancer continued to spread.
