A house in Lakeview was gutted by the second fire in six months Monday night, according to fire officials. Firefighters responded to the wood construction home, located at the intersection of Ephrata Avenue Northwest and Franklin Street Northwest, around 7:30 p.m. Monday night for a report of flames showing at the residence. When personnel with Grant County Fire District No. 7 arrived, the roof was fully involved, with flames pouring out of every window. The same house had caught fire June 22 when it served as a rental property. That fire had already gutted the property, Fire Chief Kirk Sheppard said Tuesday, so firefighters responding to Monday’s call focused on keeping the fire from spreading to nearby residences.
