Son of deceased Bellingham man intubated for practice, settles

Brad Ginn Jr. is speaking publicly for the first time about the day Bellingham firefighters practiced intubation on his father's dead body. His father, Bradley Ginn Sr., died in a medic unit on his way to the hospital on July 31, 2018. Bellingham Fire Department officers on leave after training on dead body When the hospital wouldn't accept his body, firefighters took him back to the Fire Department. According to the city's investigation, firefighters placed his body on the floor and practiced intubation. Of the eleven people who practiced, two were office workers, according to the investigation. Ginn, filed a claim against the city for $200,000. "I just don't want this to happen to somebody else. I don't want somebody to deal with this kind of pain, ever." said Ginn. The younger Ginn settled with the city earlier this month for $75,000 and a promise the department would change its policies and procedures.
