A fire at a home in the 600 block of Cornell Avenue displaced five people Tuesday morning, Yakima firefighters said.
Firefighters were called around 7:30 a.m. Two adults and two children from the downstairs unit and an adult living upstairs were able to get out, along with four dogs, according to a fire department news release.
The children and the resident of the upstairs unit were taken to a local hospital for smoke inhalation.
Smoke, water and fire damage to the home are estimated at $150,000, the release said. The American Red Cross is assisting the occupants.
Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire.
