Two horses died when a barn and stable caught fire in Monroe Thursday morning. Renters who live on the property in the 13400 block of Chain Lake Road noticed smoke around 1:30 a.m. and called 911. Firefighters arrived to find the building on fire and began fighting the flames. But eventually, the roof collapsed and the building was destroyed. Two horses were found dead in the wreckage, but two others survived. There were no injuries to any humans. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
