Benton County Emergency Management (BCEM) is already thinking ahead about the fire season, and they want to make sure all Tri-Cities agencies are on the same page.
BCEM leaders hosted a symposium today to get all sorts of response agencies in the same room to discuss wildland fire response in our community.
They told Action News about 70 people attended Thursday's meeting, the first of it's kind around here.
BCEM organizer Deanna Davis says they went over a number of things, including the terminology they'd be using for future wildfires.
She said they also went over evacuation levels and their Code Red emergency telephone notification system.
Walla Walla county uses a similar system, Everbridge, to alert the public of impending evacuations.
