Two adults and two small dogs were displaced from their northeast Spokane home early Wednesday morning when the garage caught fire and spread to the house. The two people inside and their pets got out safe and called 911. Spokane firefighters arrived to the home, located at 523 E. Liberty, around 2:20 a.m. They could see heavy smoke coming from the front door. Crews were able to extinguish the fire quickly but the garage and a large portion of the home had already been heavily damaged. The adults and their dogs are now being cared for by the American Red Cross while The Spokane Fire Department’s Special Investigation Unit works to figure out what caused the fire.
