The Powerline Fire is now up to 7,800 acres and 50% contained, this according to the Southeast Washington Type 3 Incident Management Team. The fire has been calm today, allowing crews to get a better handle on it. Firefighters have been doing a lot of mop up this afternoon, with more mop up operations expected tomorrow after tonight’s night shift. More winds, higher temperatures and sunshine are expected for tomorrow in the area.
Evacuation notices have remained unchanged since this morning.
