Brush fire burns about 40 acres west of Moses Lake

A brush fire burned about 40 acres Tuesday afternoon on Bureau of Land Management property west of Moses Lake. The fire was first reported about 2:30 p.m. along North Frontage Road, near Hiawatha Road and Road A Northeast, about 10 miles west of Moses Lake. Grant County Fire District 5 Capt. Travis Svilar said a total of about 15 fire trucks were on scene to contain the blaze. No structures were threatened and no injuries reported. Svilar said the fire has been turned over to the Bureau of Land Management to determine the cause of the fire.
