A vehicle fire on I-82 near Coffin Road that turned into a brush fire at about 11:40 a.m. is now contained. According to Benton County Fire District #1 Battalion Chief Don Taylor, a pickup was traveling westbound near Coffin Road, had some sort of problem, pulled over on the side of the road and burst into flames. Nearly 2 acres of brush was burned. Taylor said they do not yet know what caused the vehicle fire, but the truck was evacuated and no one was hurt. One westbound lane of I-82 was closed off as crews put out the fire. Taylor said when pulling off to the side of the road, drivers should try to avoid vegetation as long as they can park safely.
