Two drivers were injured yesterday when their cars collided on an icy stretch of Highway 97 about 5 miles North of Orondo. State Troopers say it happened when 17 year old William Shindler of Orondo lost control of his Southbound vehicle. It crossed over into the Northbound lane where he was struck by 43 year old Olivia Acevedo of Monitor. Troopers say Shindler was driving too fast for the slick conditions. Both were treated at Central Washington Hospital.
