An early Wednesday morning fire damaged a Centralia home, while its residents awoke to find their porch burning.
Total damage caused by the fire in the 100 block of Otto Road was estimated to cost $10,000. No injuries were reported.
According to a press release from Riverside Fire Authority, units responded at 3:45 a.m. to find a partially extinguished fire around an exterior porch. The occupants of the house — an adult male and female — said their dogs woke them up. There was smoke in their two-story house, they said.
The man tried to put out the fire with a fire extinguisher while the woman called 911. Responding units fully put out the fire, and its cause is currently under investigation by the Lewis County Fire Marshal’s office.
