No one was injured when a modular home erupted in flames in the 500 block of Hidden Trails Road. The Tuesday blaze was discovered by a friend of the owner who arrived on scene to care for animals at the residence, according to East Jefferson Fire-Rescue. She noticed fire and smoke and called 9-1-1 and firefighters were called to the flames at 2:43 p.m. “Hidden Trails is not far from Station 1-5, so firefighters were able to get there very fast,” said Leah Speser, spokeswoman for East Jefferson Fire-Rescue (EJFR). “When firefighters arrived, they found the attic and roof on fire, and flames crawling up the side of the structure.” Speser said a pet lizard found inside was safely removed. Ponies in a nearby field were moved a safe distance away from the activity as a precaution, although they were never in any danger.
