18-acre Lewis County brush fire threatens home near Randle

Firefighters are working to setup fire lines around the perimeter of a brush fire that threatened a home near Randle. The fire broke out at 3:15 P.M. Wednesday. It's burned approximately 18 crews off Old Barn Road, according to Randle Fire & EMS/Lewis County Fire Protection District #14. The fire is approximately 5 percent contained, a spokeswoman for the Washington Department of Natural Resources told KOMO News on Thursday morning. The fire threatened one home Wednesday night. The home is no longer threatened, firefighters said. There is no word yet on a cause of the fire. The fire is one of 50 wildfires that have burned across the state this week, according to Public Lands Commissioner Hilary Franz. 49 of the fires happened west of the Cascades.
