Two people are dead after a fatal shooting that led to a car crash Wednesday afternoon in an incident along Sand Point Way in Northeast Seattle, police and fire officials said.
The incident began when shots were fired near Sand Point Way and Northeast 125th Street, Seattle police spokesman Sean Whitcomb said.
One person was shot to death and two others were wounded.
An operator on King County Metro bus route 75 hit an emergency alarm just after 4 p.m., saying they had been shot. There were 12 people on the bus at the time, but King County Metro said in a tweet that none of them were hit.
There were two bullet holes in the front windshield of a Metro bus that had been cordoned off with police caution tape.
Police said they tried to negotiate with the gunman but he drove off and was pursued by police.
