Lakes and rivers will be popular destinations across the region this weekend with temperatures expected to soar well into the 80s.
Rescue drones, a new tool unveiled by Firefighters with Eastside Fire & Rescue Wednesday, will help with water rescues, wildfires, and search operations.
Three drones may be used to determine how many resources are needed during wildfire, search and rescue operations, firefighters said.
The biggest one, a DJI Matrice 210-RTK, can actually drop a life ring, a small Automated External Defibrillator (AED), or a cell phone down to someone that needs help. "Sometimes it takes us an hour to get to a patient. And with a drone, we can get there in a matter of minutes," said Captain Steve Johnson with Eastside Fire & Rescue.
