Lake Wenatchee's fire district will acquire and develop 5.37 acres next to Beaver Valley Elementary School to build a new fire station adjacent to Chumstick Highway near Plain. The Cascade School Board voted Monday to approve the sale of the property, valued initially at $340,000, which has been under discussion since 2017. Lake Wenatchee Fire and Rescue, also designated Chelan County Fire District 4, hopes to build a new station with a training room, office space, apparatus bays, kitchen, and sleeping area for resident firefighters. The property is located behind the small Beaver Valley Elementary School, and adjacent to existing fire district property. Lake Wenatchee Fire and Rescue is headquartered at a station near Lake Wenatchee State Park, and keeps satellite stations at Chiwawa River Pines, Ponderosa and Plain.
