Three adults and one child were displaced Sunday evening after a fire burned a north Spokane home. Fire crews responded to the home at 6203 N. Alberta St. at about 8:30 p.m., and found flames shooting from the first floor as its occupants stood and watched from the outside, firefighters said in a news release. The fire was quickly extinguished, said firefighters, but not before flames spread and ignited a nearby propane tank behind the home. Power lines were also burned, leaving electrical wires down near the house. The American Red Cross provided temporary housing assistance for the family. No injuries were reported. Firefighters said the entire first floor of the home was damaged, except for one bedroom that had its door closed. “The minimal damage to the one bedroom highlights the importance of having your doors closed,” said Fire Chief Brian Schaeffer in the news release.
