One person is dead after a fatal vehicle fire occurred earlier this morning at Celebration Park in Federal Way.
South King Fire and Rescue (SKFR), along with police, responded to the incident at approximately 7:15 a.m. at the park, located at 1095 S. 324th St., Federal Way.
Upon arrival, SKFR crews worked quickly to extinguish the car fire, then discovered a body inside the vehicle, fire officials said. Police believe this incident was a suicide, said Cmdr. Kurt Schwan with the Federal Way Police Department.
The car was fully engulfed in flames with help arrived, he noted.
“Once they had the fire knocked down, they discovered a possible patient inside the vehicle … Crews then backed away to preserve the scene evidence,” said Lt. Brad Chaney, public information officer for SKFR.
