Police say two people are believed to have serious injuries after a Walla Walla house fire. Shortly before 11 p.m. Friday, officers and firefighters arrived to the fire at 602 E. Chestnut St. The fire was shooting out a side window. Officers got there before the fire department and determined two people were still inside. They were able to get them out from two different areas of the house. Walla Walla Police say they were transported to a local hospital before being sent to Kadlec. Crews got the fire under control and treated some pets for injuries. One officer was also checked out at a local hospital for smoke inhalation. There were no working smoke detectors inside the home. The cause is under investigation.
