A semi engulfed in flames sparked a large brush fire south of Lind Monday afternoon. At about 4 p.m., Lind Fire Chief Kevin Staring says the semi truck driver believes the refrigerator in his sleeping quarters shorted out causing the fire. Parked on the side of SR 395 several miles south of Lind, Chief Staring says the nearby field caught fire as flames consumed the truck cab. The truck fire caused a 200-acre brush fire that spread two miles northward to Cunningham Road. No one was hurt and no buildings burned.
