South County Fire is hosting an open house at Martha Lake Fire Station 21, 16810-13th Ave. W. in Lynnwood, Saturday, Oct. 12, with activities and helpful information for all ages.
The event is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is free for the public.
The open house wraps up South County Fire’s Fire Prevention Week and will include activities stressing safety, care and fire prevention. Kids can take part in “Making a Great Escape” by donning a superhero cape and practicing how to escape from a fire — the first 100 kids attending the open house will receive a free cape.
Kids will also have the opportunity to spray water from a real fire hose at the event. Other activities for all ages include meeting firefighters, touring the station and its fire engine and rescue truck, and learning about ACT fire aid, disaster preparedness, safe and healthy aging, injury prevention and careers with South County Fire.
