A man set a nightclub on fire in Pioneer Square and surveillance cameras recorded his every move. Police are now using that footage in the hopes of tracking him down.
The man appeared to be camping in front of Trinity on Occidental Ave. S when he started burning something against an outside wall. Once he started the fire he can be seen actually using his shirt to fan the flames to spread.
“He lit the fire and it went out. He lit it again. Then he took his shirt off and waved it at the fire to get it going,” said Guy Godefroy, describing the surveillance footage from Trinity, where he is the general manager.
The fire was stubborn and kept dying out so the man kept relighting it. In the meantime, a car pulled up and a few people walked by but no one tried to stop him.
