At the October 14 City Council Meeting, four new Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) were awarded their helmets, giving them active volunteer status. Josh Demetrescu, Chris Feilen, Tanner Hillier, and Anna Meehan bring a broad range of experiences to their roles as EMTs. Josh Demetrescu, who works for the U.S. District Court in downtown Seattle, grew up in Montana and moved to Washington state to attend college. Chris Feilen grew up in the Lake Sammamish area, attended Washington State University, and currently works at Microsoft as a developer. Tanner Hillier was born and raised in the Bay Area in California. In his teens, Hillier’s family moved to the foothills of the Sierra Mountains where he developed a love for mountain biking, backpacking, camping, skiing, and snowboarding. Anna Meehan has a doctorate of audiology from the University of Memphis. She completed an EMT course at Everett Community College in December 2018.
