Grant County Fire District No. 3 was awarded the Management Excellence award by the Washington Fire Commissioners Association which is a nod toward the district’s administration vigilance with management of funds and overall financial responsibility.
“This is a synopsis of the entire fire department working together soundly and fiscally sound toward providing better customer service,” said Michele Talley, public information officer.
The financial achievements for the district such as, being awarded the SAFER grant multiple years and using reserved monies to replace a structure engine, illustrate the district’s dedication to saving taxpayer money and having a strong administration guiding the department.
“Everyone sees the fire district has going on calls, putting out fires, dealing with medical aids – but really the fire district is a business.
