One person was found dead after an RV caught fire in Everett Wednesday morning.
A person driving along the U.S. 2 trestle spotted flames along Riverside Avenue and called 911 to report a possible illegal burn, according to Heather Chadwick with Snohomish County Fire District 7. As firefighters were heading there, a second call came in reporting a house fire in the 5300 block of the avenue. Firefighters arrived to find it was, in fact, a burning 30-foot RV.
The fire was difficult to extinguish, and firefighters from three nearby agencies were called to help douse the flames, Chadwick said. Once the flames were out, firefighters found the body of a person and a dog inside.
Chadwick didn't have any details yet on the victim or how the fire might have started.
Both the Snohomish County fire marshal and sheriff's office are investigating the fire's cause.
