VIDEO: A woman who was rescued from her burning home in Silverdale wants to publicly thank the man who saved her.
"You’re my guardian angel,” Dawn Ruth said. “You don’t know that, but you really are.”
The two reunited at Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue Station 51 Thursday following Wednesday's terrifying event.
Ruth didn’t know her place was burning until Dylan, a Master Chief in the Navy and the Chief of the Boat of the USS Pennsylvania Trident submarine, happened to drive by and bang on the door after seeing flames. He was on his way to drop off his son at a high school across the street.
"Just kind of peered into her backyard and there was a fairly large growing fire that was starting to climb up the porch," he said. So, immediately called 911 and was pounding on her door.”
