More than $22,000 has been donated since Wednesday for injured Okanogan firefighter Christian Johnson. Over 300 people have donated on a GoFundMe account created Wednesday to help Johnson’s family with expenses. An account is also set up at North Cascades Bank under the Christian Johnson Donation account. Johnson remains in critical condition in the intensive care unit at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and is likely facing a minimum of two to three months in intensive care. Johnson will undergo skin graft surgery after hospital staff can stabilize his condition. Johnson was on scene Sunday of the about 150-acre Spring Coulee Fire south of Okanogan. He was reportedly outside his brush truck with another firefighter when he was overcome by flames, according to Okanogan County Emergency Management. The second firefighter was not injured.
