Benton County firefighters extinguished a brush fire that grew to about a quarter acre on Thursday morning. The fire broke out along I-82 eastbound near milepost 99.2 around 10 a.m. According to Benton County Duty Chief Scott Hawley, a lack of winds helped the situation, and the first arriving truck was able to knock out the flames. The exact cause of the fire is unknown. There were no injuries.
