The Vancouver Fire Department responded to the house fire at 8:48 a.m. on Saturday with the first engine arriving at 13125 S.E. 11th Street in four and a half minutes, according to a department press release.
According to the press release, firefighters found smoke and flames coming from a second-story window. Firefighters stretched a hose line to the front of the house to attack the fire from outside until further help arrived. Fire crews then deployed hose lines to the second story of the split level house while checking to see if it had spread to the attic, according to the press release.
The fire was extinguished within 10 minutes and no one was home at the time of the fire. The Vancouver Fire Department sent four fire engines, a ladder truck and a battalion chief to the blaze. The Camas-Washougal Fire Department sent two engines to assist. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Vancouver Fire Marshal.
