The City of Kennewick responds to last night's email that was sent out by former Fire Chief Vince Beasley that said the City of Kennewick placed him on “administrative leave” and asked him to return keys and city property. The city's press release states, "City Manager Marie Mosley has been working with former Chief Beasley for an extended period of time on performance and leadership concerns. A retirement option had been discussed but an agreement was not reached. Due to his actions, former Chief Beasley has effectively resigned his position as the Fire Chief for the City of Kennewick effective immediately." In the meantime, Police Chief Ken Hohenberg will be the Fire Chief until the position is filled, according to the press release. The press release also states that the city will be partnering with the Western Fire Chiefs Association to look for a new Fire Chief immediately.
