A fire on Golf Course Road caused major damage to two rooms of a house but did not injure any of the occupants. All of the occupants — two adults and one minor, along with two dogs — were out of the house in the 1800 block of South Golf Course Road when Clallam 2 Fire Rescue firefighters arrived after being dispatched at 9:29 p.m. Thursday, April 2. Officers with the Port Angeles Police Department first arrived and reported all were out of the house, Fire Chief Jake Patterson said in a press release. Flames were coming from the south side and attic space of the house. It was determined to be accidental, Patterson said in the release. The fire originated in a bedroom and the exact cause is under investigation, he said. The fire was knocked down by 10 p.m. and fully extinguished by 10:30 p.m., Patterson said. Along with major damage to two rooms of the house, there was extensive heat and smoke damage throughout the entire house. The occupants were able to stay with friends/family locally, Patterson said.
