The pilot of an ultralight aircraft died Monday morning when they crashed in North Clark County, the sheriff’s office said. Deputies were called out about 9:20 a.m. Monday after someone said they might have seen an ultralight crash near Daybreak Airport on JA Moore Road in the Battle Ground/La Center area. First responders found out the small aircraft had crashed several hundred yards off the private grass runway, landing in some brush along the East Fork Lewis River. The pilot was pronounced dead at the scene. The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is withholding the pilot’s name until family members have been notified of their death. No official word on what led up to the crash, and the NTSB has been notified.
