An overnight fire has damaged a Denny's restaurant in Tacoma. The fire broke out just before midnight Tuesday night in the 5900 block of 6th Avenue, according to Tacoma Fire officials. Flames were visible shooting from the roof when firefighters got to the scene. It took about 30 minutes to get the fire under control to where crews were just dousing hot spots, fire officials said. Firefighters believe the fire started in the kitchen and then spread to the roof, but the exact cause of the fire remains under investigation. No one was injured.
