A man was found critically injured after a fire broke out inside a home in south Capitol Hill Wednesday evening. The fire was reported just before 7 p.m. in the 2100 block of East Denny Way, according to Seattle Fire officials. Firefighters arrived to find dark smoke surround the home. Crews discovered a 40-year-old man unconscious in a room next where the fire was burning but couldn't reach him without sawing a hole in the wall, officials said. Firefighters eventually brought him to waiting medics who performed CPR on the victim as they took him to Harborview Medical Center where he was last reported in critical condition. The fire was extinguished about a half hour later and no other injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
