A new study is answering the question, "How prepared are we for the health effects of climate change?"
The answer: Oregon and Washington rank in the middle of the pack.
This report from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and the organization, Trust For America's Health, assessed all 50 states and the District of Columbia and found a great deal of variation in their preparedness to protect residents’ health, the researchers said. Some states have made significant preparations, while others have barely begun this process, they explained.
The report categorized each state as being least vulnerable, more vulnerable, and most vulnerable, while also determining the least prepared, more prepared, and most prepared.
