Elderly man killed in crash on interstate in Pasco

Washington State Patrol says Gale Easterday, 79, of Mesa, died at the scene of a crash on I-182 in Pasco on Thursday afternoon after he struck a semi head on while driving the wrong direction. The crash happened at 3:30 PM on I-182 near 4th Avenue in east Pasco. According to a report from WSP, Easterday was heading westbound in the eastbound lanes in his truck collided with a semi truck. That crash caused the semi to swerve and strike a third vehicle also heading westbound. Troopers say the semi also went into oncoming traffic and blocked the westbound lanes. Two other vehicles were struck by debris from the crash. No one else was injured in the crash. A report by Troopers says relatives of Easterday have been notified of his passing. The report also states that Easterday was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
