A driver is in the hospital after a car fire along Interstate 5 near the Kelso exit 39 in Southwest Washington. First responders were called out at about 7:30 a.m. on reports of a “fully-involved” car fire along the northbound lanes of I-5. Fire crews managed to extinguish the burning Jaguar shortly after they arrived on-scene. According to Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue, the driver had set himself on fire while he was still inside the vehicle. Washington State Patrol troopers pulled him out; he was taken to St. John Medical Center for an evaluation. No word on his current condition.
