Clayco Construction Donates Toys, Cash for Grant County Fire District 3 to Pay It Forward

Clayco Construction personnel donated $5,000 worth of toys and $1,150 for the Grant County Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 4418 (Grant County Fire District 3) to pay it forward. “This is something Clayco does every year in some capacity,” said Michelle Talley, firefighter EMT. The fire district turned the toys over to the Quincy Valley Lions Club to disperse wrapped toys to dozens of families. The money donated went toward the IAFF Local 4418’s Benevolent Fund and will be used when firefighters identify a need The money donated went toward the IAFF Local 4418’s Benevolent Fund and will be used when firefighters identify a need. “Say we go on a call and see an elderly person that has stairs up to their front door and they need a ramp, we can go out and build a ramp for them using that money,” said Talley. Recently, the fire district tapped into that fund to help out an elderly resident. Clayco Construction personnel is based at Microsoft’s construction site in Quincy.
